Rastatt we found, was quite an expensive place to stay for the night. The tourist info centre suggested Plittersdorf, which was only 7kms away. We agreed and they booked us in.
The Hotel was very easy to find as it was located on the main road.
Booking in and trying to get the host to understand English was funny, all of us were in fits of laughter! Sign language and antics were used to get the message across.
Well, we ended up with a room for the night, right at the top of a very steep staircase in the attic.
WARNING... Don't have too much heavy luggage!
We had no complaints about our room other than "me" knocking my head on the slope of the attic roof. It is an old German Hotel, so the furniture was old, but everything was clean, we had our own shower and toilet, a comfortable bed, windows that opened and a view of an Apple orchard and some of the River Rhine. A nice quiet night.
FREE PARKING was at the back of the Hotel
A good breakfast was included in the price.
