Is There Any Overnight Bus Service From Stuttgart to Frankfurt During The Week
by vanbcman
Hi there. I am visiting friends in Stuttgart but have to be in Frankfurt for a 7:30 AM flight. I know there are night buses on the weekends but is anyone aware of a reasonable cheap way of getting from Stuttgart to Frankfurt overnight during the week. Thanks

Than you already know more than I. Which bus company is offering this service?

Eurolines has only 4 domestic routes in Germany:
1. Romantic Road Frankfurt - Würzburg - Füssen - Munich 01.04.-31.10. 1 bus daily
2. Castle Road Mannheim - Nuremberg 01.05.-30.09. 1 bus daily
3. Reutlingen - Straßburg 2 buses daily
4. ab9euro Hamburg - Frankfurt - Heidelberg 1 night bus daily
None of these routes goes via Stuttgart at all.
I'm not aware (and I guess christine.j also) of any bus company offering a domestic far distance bus service to Stuttgart.
Eurolines is in first place offering international bus routes. Even if a bus on such a route stops in several cities in Germany, you cannot use it for journeys between these cities. The license Eurolines holds for these routes, does not allow to offer domestic transport service on these routes.
Travel Tips for Stuttgart
Adult Education Center (VHS)
by Nemorino
This building is called "TREFFPUNKT Rotebühlplatz" and was opened in 1992. (TREFFPUNKT means meeting place.)
It is shared by six educational and cultural institutions, including the music school and the Adult Education Center, which also coordinates the many cultural events that take place here.
The building includes a theater, the Rotebühltheater, where numerous performances from the free theater and dance scene are held.

Coffee on the Konigsbau
by antistar about Cafe Konigsbau
With its location in the Konigsbau itself, this cafe makes a great location for an outdoor coffee, even in November. You can watch as the mass of shoppers pass by in front of you, silhouetted against the Neues Schloss in the background. The service on my visit was very slow, due to there only being two waiters/waitresses to serve about two dozen tables. It took nearly 3/4 hour to be served, but only three minutes to drink the coffee when it arrived.
Prices are a little higher than usual, but acceptable for the prime location.
Kunstmuseum
by Roadquill
Located off of Kleinerschlossplatz 1, a 10 minute walk from the train station, the Kunstmuseum has an incredible collection of Otto Dix works, along with a number of other primarily German expressionist artists. They also have a floor for exhibitions which during my stay was titled EAT ART. Where there were numerous pieces by contemporary artists in which art involved food. From a rotating (to upside down) full size kitchen to pieces where animals made to look like they were breathing as well as baked in a cake.
Christmas
by suubi
uuuuuh, it reminds me of "Glühwine" = "mulle wine", (a type of prepared warm wine) and "weiswurst"(sausage) . I love this combination in the cold December christmas atmosphere and
the Christmas Market in Stuttgart is not only one of the oldest, but certainly also one of the most beautiful and largest in Europe with over 200 stalls on Marktplatz and Schillerplatz. The Stuttgart Christmas Market is traditionally opened on the last Thursday in November with a ceremonial concert in the inner courtyard of the "Altes Schloss". The small wooden houses lovely decorated with angelic figures, fir branches and Christmas balls are open daily up to Dezember 23 from 10.00 a.m. to 8.30 p.m. and on Sundays from 11.00 a.m.
Schillerplatz
by antistar
Stuttgart's Schillerplatz is one of the most picturesque parts of the town, and perhaps the one most evocative of earlier times. The square is surrounded on all sides by historic buildings, including the Stiftskirche, the Altes Schloss and the Alte Kanzlei. In the center of the square is the monument to Friedrich Schiller, the celebrated poet who studied at the Hohe Karlsschule in Stuttgart between 1773 and 1780. The monument, or Schillerdenkmal, was designed by Danish sculptor Bertel Thorwaldsen, and unveiled in 1839.
