Trains and Taxis
by hunterV
The best way to travel to and from Stuttgart is by train.
There are lots of modern trains and all modern conveniences at the railway station.
The best way to get around the city is by a streetcar.
If you are short of time, you can take a comfortable taxi at the entrance to the railway station and the taxi-driver will take you round the city center.
SI ZENTRUM - A huge building...
by Slydevil
SI ZENTRUM - A huge building which concentrates lots of nice restaurants, bars, cinemas and theaters ( some souvenier stores as well). There are two famous plays going on there: VAMPIRE and CATS. Do not miss them ( I did though, since 'danke' and 'bitte' is all I can understand in German. <
Winefestival in Boeblingen
by seoulgirl
Most small cities/towns/villages around Stuttgart have their own winefestival. This one is in Boeblingen. It's nice, small, and local, fun! There was a flea market going on when we were there also. You can rent paddle boats there also. They have food too. It's self serve. You order, get the ticket and pass it to the ladies with the food.
It's Sept. 13 and 14th 2008.
State Theater, Small House
by Nemorino
Originally, the State Theater in Stuttgart consisted of the Opera House, or “Large House”, and a venue for spoken theater called the “Small House”.
Whereas the nearby Opera House suffered hardly any damage during the Second World War, the Small House was completely destroyed in the bombings in February, July and September 1944. After the war, a modern new Small House (Kleines Haus) was built in the years 1958-1962.
A full program of classic and modern drama is presented here, in German of course, nearly every night of the week.
