No big deal

You don´t need anything spectacular unless you intende to go mountainclimbing in the nearby towns. Stuttgart experiences relatively cold winters accompanied ba snow especially in Dec & Jan. For this matter you may need warm shoes if say you want to visit the Chritmas market. Otherwise, summer is warm enough with temps ranging from 20 to 28. You can obtain everything at normal prices
Parking there

Parking around the airport is very expensive and a huge major rip-off!!! There parking calculator is worthless and they pretty much tell you on the site that they are taking no responisibility for th information. We just were charged 50€ for 2 days and 9 hours in the PO parking garage. This is the furthest away and is not covered. Don't park at the airport. The parking site also states that the Movenpick parking lot has a fee of 38 euro for a week. Hello! NOT. We were charged 80 something for 4 days.

The State Opera in Stuttgart
by Nemorino
The Stuttgart Opera House was built from 1909 to 1912 as part of the Royal Court Theater (Königliches Hoftheater).
Unlike many of the nearby buildings, the Opera House was not seriously damaged during the Second World War, but it lost some of its character when it was „modernized“ in 1956 and 1970.
In 1982 the original blueprints and plans were rediscovered, and in 1983/84 the building was fully restored to its original form. There are seats for 1,399 people, slightly more than in the new opera house in Frankfurt.
Second photo: On the ceiling of the Stuttgart Opera House there is a large circular painting showing various constellations of the northern sky. It is the work of a painter named Julius Mössel (1871-1957).
Third photo: If you don't mind sitting up in the third balcony ("3. Rang") of the opera house, you can not only save a lot of money -- some seats cost as little as 8 euros -- you can also step outside onto the roof during the intermission to get some fresh air and have some nice views of the park and the rest of the city of Stuttgart.

Schlossplatz

City centre open space, surrounded by seats, fountains, the schloss and some shops. On a warm day an ideal escape from the pace of city life. We spent an hour relaxing on a bench enjoying the atmosphere of the city.
