5 stars hotel in great location

I've stayed at this hotel for one night. The room wasn't so large but it was very clean and nicely decorated. It had satellite and pay TV, 3 telephone devices, fully equiped mini bar (the prices are extremely high), safe and air conditioner. The bathroom was very small but it was clean and modern.
There are restaurants and bars at the hotel with great food quality but high, for german standards, prices. The stuff is very helpful and friendly. The hotel is ideal for business people, as it has good conference facilities.

Unique Quality: Very good location, opposite the railway station and next to the main shopping street.

It's member of Althoff Hotels and The Leading Hotels of the World

Convenient Place!

I've only stayed in this hotel on business trips, and never chose it, but that's exactly what it is useful for: if you need meeting rooms, location close to train station and city center.

Rooms are quite old-fashioned in south-germany style, lots of flowers (not real ones but in pictures etc), a little dusty and needing some renovations... Bathrooms are very small.

Overall okay if you just stay for a night or two!

It's an Althoff hotel btw.

Unique Quality: you're in the shopping streets and old town within seconds!

The short sightseeing tour is ideal for visitors who want to find out a little more about Stuttgart past and present. After a short drive through the cultural heart of the city, there is a walking tour of the historical city centre.
The bus tour then continues out into the surrounding hills to enjoy wonderful panoramic views of the city, firstly to the acclaimed Weissenhof housing estate on Killesberg hill, then past the Wilhelma zoo/botanical gardens and the mineral spas, before returning to the main railway station in the city centre where the tour ends.

Restaurants near Hotel am Schlossgarten

My partner is in Stuttgart overnight today. Staying at the Hotel am Schlossgarten. He's looking for an authentic, but not terribly formal or expensive place for dinner. Thoughts?
