B&B / appartment in Stuttgart

by cma81

I'll be in Stuttgart for 10 days the first week of September. I'm traveling with two friends, and we would like to rent an apparment to have more freedom and this stuff.
I've found this site that's really great, but I have the problem that I don't know if the appartments are easily to reach by public transport. We are going to a sport event Porsche Arena, so something close to the centre or the S1, S2, S3 lines would be perfect.

I have to say that I'm feeling stupid with the directions and everything, and everytime I ask for some inforation in one of the appartments sites, they reply me in German, which I can't barely understand.

Any idea or advice?

Alex30 hostel has appartments now but it's up to 2 people only...

Thanks in advance

hi there,
wow, a great site I even did not know till today. Anyway, there are a lot of appartments here. Even the price is very different. If You choose one in "City" You can reach the next stop for a bus or d-train in a few minutes.
best to me seems:
Private room and apartm. rental Piramovsky, Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt
Apartment Aufrecht, Stuttgart Bad Cannstatt
Not good is:
Schwaben-Stern Private accom. service
Bed & Breakfast Private accom. service, Stuttgart und Ludwigsburg

have fun and a good time in Stgt.

There is a website called fewo.24 I think you can select your language but don,t hold me to that. They let you select type of accommodation etc, area and city.

I would recommend Suttugart Studentenwerk. Its really great place withi very good location. It takes 5 mins to get to the city-center with U-Bahn.

It's in german but you can have a look at the pics and prices and you just need to send a request via email (in english):

Ypu can ask for the additional information un english (the stuff at the recepciont is very kind)

I stayed over there for one month last yaer. Its really good place!

If you have any questions - pls ask.

Good luck

Travel Tips for Stuttgart

Beer/Soda Stores Getranke

by seoulgirl

When you go to the Getranke stores you buy the beer and pay the Pfand (price for recycling the container) the first time you go. When you take pack the empty container you walk in the door and someone will address you. They will give you a slip with the money they owe you (the pfand) or someone will acknowledge you and make a mental or other note. They will take care of the rest of the bill at the register when you check out.

This is a rack railway operating the very steep route from Marienplatz up to Degerloch. If you have any interest in unusual transport this is worth a visit. Journey time around 10 mins, lots of departures everyday.

Neues Schloss

by aah_stone

Building of this magnificent building began in 1746, and was finished in 1807 after three architects had their input. It was rebuilt between 1958 and 1968.

Currently the palace contains room for representatives of the state government and 2 ministries.

I loved just walking around the square in front of the palace admiring its architecture while also people watching. Many people were sat around relaxing in the sunshine on the grassy areas.

The Mercedes-Benz Museum
Now, remember I was seventeen when I was in Stuttgart. Seeing this many classic and prototype Mercedez-Benz's in one place was a momentous occasion in my young life! Any car lover must go.
