Beer/Soda Stores Getranke
by seoulgirl
When you go to the Getranke stores you buy the beer and pay the Pfand (price for recycling the container) the first time you go. When you take pack the empty container you walk in the door and someone will address you. They will give you a slip with the money they owe you (the pfand) or someone will acknowledge you and make a mental or other note. They will take care of the rest of the bill at the register when you check out.
Zahnradbahn

This is a rack railway operating the very steep route from Marienplatz up to Degerloch. If you have any interest in unusual transport this is worth a visit. Journey time around 10 mins, lots of departures everyday.
Neues Schloss
by aah_stone
Building of this magnificent building began in 1746, and was finished in 1807 after three architects had their input. It was rebuilt between 1958 and 1968.
Currently the palace contains room for representatives of the state government and 2 ministries.
I loved just walking around the square in front of the palace admiring its architecture while also people watching. Many people were sat around relaxing in the sunshine on the grassy areas.
