Hotel Rieker

Probably the most boring hotel I have stayed at over the years. Adequate, a place to sleep, very convenient to the train station. The rooms were plain and relatively unadorned. The TV was small and there could have been a few more channels. I booked through an internet hotel site and ended up not getting breakfast included. So they got me for an extra 8 euro per morning. C'est la Vie. It was a pretty good buffet, but not great. Coffee was mediocre, but they would do an espresso for you if you asked. A lot of Japanese businessmen. The front desk tried to be helpful but did not have a clue on venues for classical music, or theatre, pretty much clueless on what was going on in the City. Rates are kind of steep, but maybe because of the extra demand from the Volksfest. 1st night ws 110 e, then the next two 159e.

Unique Quality: The view from the back is mediocre. Even though I was 6 floors up, the construction crew dropping the pipes below me provided a good wake up call.
