Located at the ICE Main Railway Station ...
by TrendsetterME
Hotel is located at the ICE Main Railway Station, actually said located IN the Station, meaning the entrance of the Hotel is in the ICE Railway Station ... There is another entrance to the hotel on the main street but kept closed mostly at nights due to security reasons. Its a good spot as u arrive w train, so it will take u just a minute to get off the ICE and make ur check in at the hotel ....
Rooms are kindda old refurbished but clean and tidy, wifi connection available .... Below the reception floor is the restaurant which also breakfast is served, buffet not so much sorted but well enough for a good appetite ...
Main Shopping Street Königstrasse is just walking distance and several fast food shops r located around the hotel and some supermarkets till late in case u wanna buy some necessities ...
As its located in the railway station, many people traveling around, but rooms have good sound proof sothat u can sleep without being disturbed ...
Recommendable Hotel without high expectations ... :)
Directions: At the ICE Main Railway Station.

Hotel and Trade Fair Transportation
by Pat4332
Hello - We will be arriving in Stuttgart for the Intervitis Trade Fair at Landesmesse Stuttgart GmbH in April and would sure appreciate any help for hotel ideas. I would like to go sightseeing while my husband attends the show, therefore we would like to be close to a train, etc. that goes to the fair and within walking distance of places which I could explore on my own. We are flying into Frankfurt and will be travelling by train to Stuttgart. Also, any suggestions as to what I would be able see and do would be greatly appreciated. Have never been to Stuttgart before and am looking forward to our visit.
We will also be in Heilbronn so any suggestions for hotel, sightseeing there would also wonderful too.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Killesberg Messe (the fair grounds) is served by Stadtbahn line U7 (dark green on the below linked map).

These places are however not really in walking distance. Or it's at least a walk of one hour or so. Best will be to get a 3-day ticket for local public transport
http://www.vvs.de/en/fahrk_fahrkarten_3tage.php
Opt for the EUR 12,80 network version.
Two highlights of the Stuttgart region you can reach in approx. 15 minutes by S-Bahn (covered with the above suggested network version of the 3-day ticket) are Esslingen and Ludwigsburg.
Esslingen has a nice medieval city centre. One of the biggest cities in Germany not destroyed in WWII.

Ludwigsburg is for Germany an incredible young place (less than 300 years old).
Ludwigsburg Palace is the greatest German Baroque Palace.

Nice is also the Neckar Valley between Heilbronn and Heidelberg. Which is also part of the Castle Road. Something you can easily include into your route back to Franfkurt.

Travel Tips for Stuttgart
Sharing a table
by seoulgirl
Don't be afraid to share a table with people especially at a large picnic table in a beer garden. It's polite to say hallo or Guten tag and then asking if the table is free. Once you sit down and if they get some food it is also customary to say "Gut appetite". You don't have to chat with them but politeness if very important.
Flying
by antistar
Stuttgart has its own airport, and it is well served for a city that is outside the main air traffic hubs. For budget flights one of Germany's main carriers, German Wings, now runs one of its central hubs out of Stuttgart, offering flights to and from major international cities like London, Madrid, Warsaw and Rome. The airport is also well served by Stuttgart's public transport system, and also the rail system, making it very accessible. It takes less than 30 minute to reach the airport by S-Bahn from the city centre. The train system also connects the airport up to the ICE network, making for fast links to cities like Munich and Hamburg.
Fests, Fests, and more Fests
by Erin09340
It seems like there's always a party going on. From the Spring Fest, Wine Fest, Christmas Markets, Oktoberfest (second largest outside of Munich) and that's just in Stuttgart proper. All the smaller towns have their fests too.
Daimler-Chrysler originates...
by Taitsu
Daimler-Chrysler originates from Stuttgart and you can see the influence of it EVERYWHERE! When cruising around Stuttgart by car you get to see some quite nice cars driving around... So, for people interested in that, visiting the factory itself would be a good idea. They offer tours also in English, but you need to book in advance.
Hauptbahnhof
by bugulma
The railway station is situated in the center of the city, in the beginning of Koenigstrasse. The architectural style is interesting for me. The architect Paul Bonatz built the station building in 1914-1927. The tower is 58 meters high. Just after World War II under the station the S-Bahn and U-bahn lines were begun to build as well as shopping passages (the building works were finished in 1974).
