Does Porche offer factory tours at their Stuttgart factory?

by swdke

Does Porche offer factory tours at their Stuttgart factory? If so, where do I go to find out information on such tours, or reservations?

Thanks!

The Porsche website is a good starting point.

You can take a virtual tour:

http://www.porsche.com/uk/aboutporsche/virtualfactorytour/

or you can organise a real factory visit here;

http://www.porsche.com/uk/dialog/contactandinformation/factorycollection/

but only at their Leipzig factory, apparently. You'll need to email them for details and reservation.

Unfortunately, Stuttgart>Leipzig by train is 5+ hours.

yes they do, go for their web site through bing. Make a reservation with them, tell them that you may want to buy a Porsche to take home with you after your visit to germany...they will help you and maybe let you on the test track.

Lately I have had several inquiries on how to schedule a tour of the Porsche factories. Can’t wait to see them for myself. To schedule your tour contact Porsche directly at factorytours@porsche.de.

Porsche has a museum in Stuttgart (that I did not get to see) as well as Mercedes (which I did see and that was impressive) I don't know about the factory tours. Karl

Here's the museum info:

The Porsche website makes no mention of Stuttgart factory tours, only of those in Leipzig. Unless you are actually picking up your car in their factory near Stuttgart:

Travel Tips for Stuttgart

The Engine that Runs Volksfest

by Roadquill

At the Volksfest the main ingredient is beer and the barrels from which the beer pours forth is th engine the runs the Volkfest. Strategically placed to provide quick delivery to thirsty patrons I am not quite sure why the glum look on the persons face. Of course the look of the barrels are part of hoax as the tents are probably hooked up directly to the brewery.

Tubingen

by antistar

The distinctive medieval university town of Tubingen is only a short 45 minute train ride from Stuttgart, and well worth a day trip if you are here for a longer stay. With its incredibly tall gabled buildings teetering over miles of tight cobbled roads it is one of the most memorable sights in the country. The academic, historic and small town nature also make it a relaxing break from the hustle and bustle of down town Stuttgart. Trains run to the town direct from the main station, and cost just over 18 euros return.

Read more about the town on my Tubigen page.

Weinstube Schellenturm

by sniem about Weinstube Schellenturm

It's a very unique place in a medieval tower, with a nice terasse to sit outside in the summer. They have a good wine list and are specialized on regional specialities.
There are some other good restaurants and bars in the area. Maultaschen the Swabian and therefor larger version of Ravioli

Koenigstrasse

by Schnecki

Take a stroll down the Koenigstrasse on Saturday afternoon, and you''ll see hart and soul of Stuttgart.I just love this street , it is a combination of old and new.If you like shopping just walk up and down the streat ther are some great shops there but if you like a hidden treasure turn into one of the little side streats you never know where they will take you.

Neues Schloss

by Nemorino

Stuttgart’s „New Castle“ is at the other end of the same reflecting pond that reflects the Opera House.

This late baroque castle was built in the years 1746-1797 and 1805-1807 as the official residence of the kings of Württemberg.

It was almost completely destroyed in the Second World War, but was re-built 1958-1964. It now houses ministries of the state government of Baden-Württemberg.
