Tuebingen to Hahn Airport
by sunset_gal
I'm trying to get from Tuebingen to Hahn Airport. Which is the easiest/fastest way? The Hahn Express bus only starts from Heidelberg. If I take a train from Tuebingen to Heidelberg, is the pick up point for the Airport Express far from the train station?
Or is there an easier way?

The bus stop is right outside the train station in Heidelberg.

An alternative to Heidelberg would be to get on this bus in Ludwigshafen.
Mannheim should be avoided as the bus does not stop directly at the Hauptbahnhof there.
If you want it cheap: You can reach Heidelberg and Ludwigshafen on a Baden-Württemberg Ticket Single (EUR 17,00).

There are more shuttle buses from Mainz or Frankfurt Airport to Hahn Airport.
The ones from Mainz are shown by the DB timetable.

Have you checked also for budget flights from Suttgart Airport?

Ryanair is not the only budget airline. And considering the transfer to Hahn, the others may offer in the result the better deal.

Thanks for the info. Im trying to get from STR to Stockholm. Best bet is with HLX. However, the flight going out on Friday is too early. I need an evening flight. Hence was thinking of trying to get to Hahn to take a flight out. But seems like alot of transfers! Any idea what the cost and time would come up to from Tuebingen to Hahn? Thanks!

Travel Tips for Tübingen
The Neckar River
by JetlagCity
The Neckar River goes through Tubingen and there's a walkway along side of it where you can enjoy a pleasant stroll under some trees, taking in the views of the colorful half-timbered houses here. There are also some riverside restaurants and bars where you can stop in to warm up during the winter, and enjoy nice views of the water.
Hohentuebingen Castle, Museums
by bugulma
After the complex restoration of the castle some of the university's cultural and academic institutions were relocated there, the collections of which are open to the public. Part of the highlights are numerous archeological findings and replicas. I haven't any wish to go inside that day although I'm sure there are many interesting exhibits.
Wilhelmsstift
by bugulma
The former academy of knights was built from 1588 to 1592. Until the Thirty Years‘ War it had been the favourite academy of the protestant aristocracy in all of Europe. Sine 1817 it has been the catholic students‘ college. At the corner of Lange Gasse and Collegiumsgasse the building hat the emblem ot the Duchy of Württemberg from 1593 on top of the portal. The Latin inscription on the left is translated on the right (on the pic).
Times in Tuebingen.
by jamyjames1
I love Tuebingen, It's a cool college city sitting nice along the Neckar river in southern Germany. People are really friendly and building and windows of Tuebingen are incredible. So much history. I could take pictures of this city for years. Be careful with your heart there for sure. I love the church bells and bakeries. It's a very central city and an easy base for many windy and snowy locations. My favorite place to eat is a litle crepe stand sometimes near the church. And the farmer's market. There is lots of great schnitzel too but you can find that on your own.
Neckar Island
by King_Golo
The long-stretched Neckar island is situated just next to the old town and is probably the best spot to relax after long and exhausting walks through the town's cobblestone streets. You've got a great view from here - the river front houses with all their beauty and the famous Holderlin tower, in which the poet lived for several years, are just in front of you.
