Aerial views of Tübingen
by tini58de
If you like to enjoy some truly breathtaking views of Tübingen, you will have to climb up the 172 steps of the tower of the Collegiate Church (Stiftskirche), which is a little strenuous, but definitely worthwhile! You can see the river Neckar from there, the castle, the townhall and all those roofs of the old city of Tübingen.
Entrance fee is 1 € (and that ticket also entitles you to visit the tombs inside the church)!
Rathaus, details

The main facade, with its picturesque appearance, was completed in 1877. On the first floor you will find the Main Conference Hall; on the second floor is the Old Reception Hall. I think the major of the city had a speech in the balcoon you see on the pic.
Old Bible book

The interesting thing for me is that in Stiftskirche, near of the entrance, th old Bible lays on the table and you can not only to look at this but also to touch and to turn over the pages. For me it is wonderful opportunity :-)
Go to the castle
by jayhawk2000
Climb up from the town hall square to the ornate gates of the castle and go into its courtyard and gardens to see the towers and stones.
The castle is home to a couple small museums, including the university's classical gallery, but there is a small admission fee to these and on such a nice day as our visit it didn't seem appropriate to spend it indoors!
The view from the gardens atop the battlements is free and is the perfect spot for a picnic, sketching or canoodling...
