Go into the website tripadvisor, there are many reviews on this Hotel, very mixed opinions. Guests stated that public transport is close by.
The main gripe seemed to be the bathrooms in the rooms which are not private i.e glass all around and person showering is visible from the bedroom. This may not be a problem for you but if travelling with a casual friend, or if you don,t have a fabulous body, might be an obstacle. The breakfast sounded expensive, E18 per head.

There is a direct train.

"Alex" or "Alexanderplatz" will be considered ambiguous. Choose the default option then.

There are certainly better hotels, but at least public transport is right at your doorstep.

I stayed at the park inn very recently and found it good,I was travelling solo so did not have a problem with the frosted glass bathroom, there were good views, right at train station, trams and buses also, the staff were excellent
room was very clean.

there are bakeries nearby and a bread roll suffices me for breakfast, also macdonalds at the station and hungry jacks under the hotel so no need to eat expensive breakfast at the hotel. I had no problems with the hotel at all except no free wifi but then I just went to Starbucks or Mc donalds.

Travel Tips for Berlin

Berliner Hop on/off

by aniasmith

If you are tight on schedule, so be aware that in Berlin hop on/off busses, are driving one way only, all the time around, its difficult to find bus more often then every 30 min. And they have a break at Brandenburg gate

And here's a pic of the...

by greentara

And here's a pic of the smaller Wasserturm opposite the one above. If you go there at night there are lots of great bars and restaurants all around with outside tables and street muscians playing just for you.

Local beer labels :-)

by matcrazy1

Some local inexepensive beers had quite funny labels and names lake this one bottle on my picture: "Kyritzer Mord und Totschlag". It was dunkel beer brewed by Brauerei Dessow (Oettinger).
It was reddish black, mild and rather sweet (chocolate flavour) beer.

Walk along the Spree

by barryg23

There are some lovely walks alongside the River Spree, Berlin's main river. It passes through many parts of the city and you'll be sure to find plenty of historic and interesting to see on your walk. One of the nicest walks along the Spree is around Museum Island in the Mitte district of Berlin.

Hang out spot

by lonnbehh about Alex

I already wrote about this "restaurant" but it's also a nice bar and hang out spot. Its situated by the Potzdamerplatz. The food and drinks are great and the waiters/waitresses are cool. It's open late at night and the atmosphere is appealing.
