Safe and quiet
I think people working here are a big mess. I booked a double room with shared bathroom, but on their web site it says they've only got ensuites. So I emailed them to confirm my booking because I didn't want to be paying more when I get there, and they said that they do have rooms with shared bathrooms. Guess what. When I get there I got a room with a bathroom. :) For the same price, which was only 22,50, so I was happy.
Some people say that it's a crap location. I don't think so though. It depends why you're there. If you're there just to party then east Berlin would be much better for you, but I was there to enjoy my romantic holiday so I didn't mind. It's a ten minute walk to the bus stop (that also takes you to the zoo station in 5 min), a 10-15 walk to the nearest U-bahn, and just a bit further there is a zoo station which is a good strating point to all areas. There is loads of restaurants around, and a good pub Solo just across the street. No real party area around though.
Very clean. But they don't have any useful brochures though, they are all in German. Most hotels and hostels have event or at leat tour programmes, this one has about 100 of them, but none in English.
Har Rock Cafe is a ten min walk from here if that's your cup of coffee.
