Berlin walks tours

by Carmela71

I am not the kind of person that likes organised excursions, but I normally enjoy the tour walks. I had been reading a couple of external links of companies that organise them and we may take one (the stadard one) on the first day to give us an idea of the city by walking. I have found it in Spanish at insidetours.(If anybody does know any other company that does in Spanish please let me know!)

But as John Le Carre early books fan, I had always dream in visiting all that places one day (I know, it is not the same LOL)so I looked for more specific tours, but they are all in English. Do you know any company that does them in other languages? (I do not have problems with the english ones, but I prefer if possible in my mother tongue)

thanks in advance

Here are some links but I have no idea how good the walks are, and if it is what you really want:

(I would surely not pay 113 Euro for walking 2.5 hours...)

The "offer" a free tour. And this tour was the best tour I ever had in all cities I've ever been. Really great, maybe because the tour is free and the guides love the city so much.....

For sure a tip is expected....for "free tours"...Good luck in your quest....if all else fails and you do need to resort to an English speaking tour...I thought the guides from "Berlin Walks" that were working the two days[and two different tours]I used they're services did a great job, they were both personable, professional, and extremely knowledgeable!
Have fun in Berlin!!

Travel Tips for Berlin

Looking for a Toilet ? Go to a Pisser :-)

by Pakistaniguy

If there is a natures call to be answered, don't look for McDonalds or any other restaurants but look around for public Pissers :-) there are all around the city and for free :-)))) Now relax and do your job at the right place !

Tipping: 15% at least is...

by barchen36

Tipping: 15% at least is tacked on to your dining bill, above that is up to you, pay for the service that was provided (sometimes it is REALLY rotten, usually quite good and then there is the OUTSTANDING!).
Do not say how everything is better in your home country, no need to have a loud voice, no need to 'flash' large amounts of cash, credit cards or jewelry, in other words 'Do not make an ASS of yourself!'
Do not make comments about the people, thinking that they do not understand you, many of the people in Berlin speak more that one language, English is quite high on the list.
In general, try to behave as you would want to be treated.

Munchwinkel

by mvtouring

Munchwinkel is a little village in the Old Eastern Germany approx one hours drive from Berlin. It is an amazing little place next to the river Spree where we had a lovely picknik with friends on their farm

Items are Swedish yet often Taiwan made too

by MD2nd about Ikea

Nice, huge, famous IKEA "factory" offers thousand of lovely things (very low in price) for furnishing, decorating, clothing, bathing, gardening and on and on and on. New to me was that their stuff is often Taiwan or Turkey made nowdays. Ikea-Berlin Tempelhof is located on Sachsendamm right at A100, exit Alboinstrasse. Easy to get there by public system as well: U6 to station Alt-Tempelhof or subway lines S2 and S25 to station Suedkreuz. Also with bus 204 or trolley M46 it's easy to get there. Question then would be how to get the purchased items packed.
Their parking options are enormous, and very comfortable.

Here's a club - I don't know its name - which made me see how little it takes to put up a place people will like. Three walls, a roof, some boxes to sit on - and of course, atmosphere! Use your imagination - and lots of it!
