Bus no. 106 to/from the Tegel airport has a stop on Ku-Damm, about 5-7 minute walk from the hotel. The zoo (which is also a central U-Bahn, bus and S-Bahn station) and the Europa Center mall are a 7-10 minute walk from the hotel. So, as far as location is concerned, the hotel is conveniently located.
Otherwise: this is a cheap hotel, with small rooms, some of which have a shower but no toilet. It's clean and tidy, but the furniture is old (and looks it), there is a musty smell, and serious renovation seems necessary.
A reasonable breakfast is provided (salami, bacon, 3 kinds of cheese, boiled egg, jam, vegetables, yoghurt, cereal, fruit-juice, coffee).
The reception desk is not manned at night (you get a key to open the door yourself).
The receptionists are Eastern-European ladies who speak only fair English.
There are approx. 30 steps to climb to the hotel reception.
If you don't mind all this, then the price is reasonable and the location and good.
Cheap price, good location.
