Stay on a Boat.... In Berlin.
Eastern Comfort is a hostel boat that conforms to traditional nautical hierarchies. The first deck offers first-class accommodation with double and single rooms both sides of a narrow red-carpeted hallway (from €64 per night). The second deck offers accommodation for the not-so-worthy with bright, airy rooms of four bunks beneath portholes that sit almost under the water. From all rooms you can look straight out on to the River Spree or the East-Side Gallery. You can also camp on the top deck in your own tent. They provide two-person tents if needed for €12 per person. Bedding is an extra €5. There are a few rooms on the top deck with bunks but these are a bit of an eyesore - with matching fluorescent yellow blinds and beds. The boat also offers a wood panelled bar on the top deck which hosts parties and live music, although these can feel a little lacking in atmosphere. Stowaways tend to spill onto the street instead to share beers by the river and meet other travellers and expats.

Sleeping on the Spree
Fantastic location. 10 Euro to sleep under the stars on deck (the website says tent, but I guess they mean sleeping bag) (summertime only) to 36 Euro/person for a Class 1 private room with big window. They also have dorm rooms of many sizes if you don't mind sharing.
Breakfast can be had for 3 Euro. Coffee/tea, cheese, meats and bread.
Personally I wouldn't bother though - just a couple of minutes walk to Kreutzberg to some fantasic cafes where you can get a great breakfast for just a couple of Euro more.
Unique Quality: To hear the water as you drift off to sleep, and the ducks quacking to welcome you in the morning. Heaven!
