Visit the Reichstaggebäude Dome. It's located on the Northeastern corner or the Tiergarten. It is also called the Deutsch Bundestaggebäude. Our fondest memory of Berlin was our view from the top of the Reichstaggebäude. There is an amazing dome on top and the view of the Tiergarten from there is stupendous!
Beginning Your Night Out
by JourneyOf1
Like many large cities around the world a night out in Berlin starts later than in smaller towns in general. Most have dinner or something to eat around 9-ish, but club and bar hopping really cranks up after 11pm or especially midnight. Some friends visiting were surprised and disappointed when they wished to go out around 9pm but not many people were out. I said, "Just wait".
It's not really fashionable to arrive at a venue until after the times I mentioned. Most times my flatmate and I don't even get dressed until 10 or so, then decide hey let's go dancing or out to have a drink. Meeting friends at 1 or 2am is normal for many of the younger set. Just remember that only on weekends and some holidays does the U-bahn run late night/early morning hours. You have to take the nightbus or a taxi, or get out and walk to return to homebase.

There's a small lake in the centre of the Tiergarten where you can hire a row boat. 30 mins for DM11 or an hour for DM20. The beer garten is right next to the lake, some of the tables are served but, most are self service at the stalls.
Postcards for 0.40 €
by matcrazy1 about Newsstand at Ku-Damm (Kurfürstendamm)
There was small shop (newsstand) put in the middle of broad southern walkway of main shopping and upscale Berlin boulevard Kurfürstendamm. They offered there: newspapers, magazines, postcards, cigarettes, some gifts (small mascots of Berlin bears), tickets for public transportation (but not one-day tickets) and other small things. Large variety of beautiful postcards for 0.40 € each. Everything at normal prices despite the location on the famous shopping boulevard - Kurfürstendamm.
