I booked and paid for a double room in advance and was told at check-in I would also going to be charged 20 Euro extra per night for the extra person. I tried to resolve it by calling the booking agent but to no avail--I was on hold for nearly an hour. Later in the week, I tried to resolve it again, but again no luck.

So in the end, I was twice charged for the same thing! I had checked with the travel service in advance about this double room question, since I had noticed that other guests were being charged extra for the "complimentary" breakfast and other services. Because of the problem with the room booking, I believe the hotel needs to communicate clearly and less deceptively about their rooms and possible extra rate charges upon check-in in the various listed services.

A further humiliation was being charged 23 Euros for the calls to try to straighten this out from the hotel front desk. Unbelievable! Their front desk people can be a little frosty--beware! They'll take a bite out of you one way or another.
