Right on the Spree River
I don't know what this building served as before 1989, but Uwe and his wonderfully friendly staff have created a fun place to stay. No elevator from the ground floor to the reception, but elevator does operate from ground floor to floors with rooms. Many of the 18 rooms have separate (and huge) bathrooms across the hall. All of the rooms seem to vary in size, shape and price.
Unique Quality: The best draw to the Riverside are the location, price and hotel staff.
You are a few steps from Friedrichstadt Palast, I could see Museum Insel from my room window (4 blocks), and with a rock you could hit Friedrichstrasse Banhof which will take you nearly anywhere in the city!
Uwe is now working on creating a spa area on the ground floor facing the Spree River.
