According this information:

Baggage Storage: There is a baggage storage place in Terminal A that charges €2 per bag per day (€4 for large bags), and at the train station there are lockers in the pedestrian subway.

Travel Tips for Berlin

ITB - Travel Fair

by Kukkanen

The annual International Travel Fair held in Berlin is a huge event and definitely worth checking out if you happen to be in town during the event! The fair is held in such a huge place that it would take at least a few days to see everything! But it is a lot of fun (well, at least if you are a travel student or just interested in different countries or travelling) and you can see some amazing stalls there because most of the countries/companies taking part in the fair put a lot of effort into making their stalls attractive. You can also find a lot of great freebies ;)

The only downside is that even though the event is being advertised as an international fair, most of the stall holders only speak German and have mainly just German brochures to give away. I was a little disappointed by this because it meant that it wasn't possible to talk to many company representatives or find brochures on some interesting countries.

This year the Travel Fair is held between March 7- 11, 2007.

Xmas Swing Russian Style

by grishaV1

This was a concert that I gave ticket to my partner as a Xmas gift: Russian swing! A great troupe of Russian players told the story of Christmas, danced, played traditional songs, and new style pieces in a colorful way and with colorful traditional costumes. It was a wonderful evening that had many Russians come there as well as Germans and others, singing along to songs we knew and almost wanting to dance along.

During intermissions for the musicians they even came up into the audience and talked with people, very friendly! The stage there is very special, unlike some theatre I have been too this was not a really detach stage but one just sitting in the middle, a place for them to play. You seemed in a close room with them like at home almost. It was great. The percussionist was from far east Russia near where we used to live in Magadan, and we asked he and his partner to dinner and they came with us after the show. It was good to talk to someone from home. Its located just around from Postdamer Platz, at Vorverkauf an allen Theaterkassen und in der Philharmonie 254-88-132. Upcoming events at this concert hall in February 2004:

Feb 22-Carneval Do Brasil, a Samba Festival music and dancing.

Feb 27-A Flamenco Festival with special dancers and a whole Flamenco orchestra!

They remember

by matcrazy1

Berliners remember well not so old past of divided city, the wall, border closings and checkups, lack of freedom and repressions in East Berlin. So after reunification they arranged many places to commerate that time.

Just one example. On the western side of Ebertstra?e between Branderburg Gate and Reichstag on the edge of Tiergarten park and on the place where the Belin wall stood, there was a special place to commemorate victims of the Berlin Wall.
There were numerous white crosses hang on the fence. There were names of the victims shot to death by East German guards while they tried to cross the wall, old photographs, flowers on each of them. Totally 192 persons were killed and approx. 200 injured on the Wall.

Alte Bibliothek

by aliante1981

The Alte Bibliotek - or the Old Library, if translated into English - is an impressive construction in flamboyant Garoque style. I must say I do no frequently see such buildings, flamboyant Gothic being much more familiar to me. It was completed in 1780 and nicknamed - rather aptly, I think - "the commode". The library today is part of Humboldt University. “Commode” or no “commode”, I wish we had a similar library at Moscow State University!

If you want to RAGE!

by rjweber21 about Sage Club

The waitress at my hotel with a diamond on her tooth told me about Sage Club: This place rages. I'm not a huge discotec person, but this place is really cool. The "Disco Boys" were spinning the night I was there and everybody was really into it. I don't know if everyone was on drugs, but there was a great vibe - everyone was happy and you could just feel the energy of the music.

The club has several levels and rooms, with an outdoor martini lounge (ish) area if you just want to chill. I highly recommend this place. I came home at 5, and people were still showing up. I don't know. I've heard that you're supposed to dress up. As a side-note if you go to "Felix" (another club/bar in the area), definitely dress up - they wouldn't let me in that place wearing jeans. I wore a long sleeve dress shirt with jeans, and I fealt a little "over-dressed" OR maybe I just wasn't dressed as hip as most of the other people there. I would say the average age was 20s -30s.

To be safe, you should dress stylish and hip...whatever that means to you.
