The hotel occupies a nice, renovated townhouse with high ceilings. It is privately owned and managed which shows in many individual details . Very good, carefully prepared and displayed breakfast buffet.
Partial handicap access. The disabled room is downstairs, reached through side entrance and ramps. Good room with roll-in-shower and comfortable shower seat, very quiet. It is a real shame that the breakfast room is upstairs. There's a lift, but to get to it, there are at least 3 large steps. The helpful and friendly staff will bring a selection of the goodies downstairs.
Directions: Not too far from Tegel Airport and about 3 km from the Reichstag. Next to the Federal Interior Ministry
I have never been to Berlin before and am very excited about it. I was wondering if those people who are familiar with the city could tell me if they have any objections to me staying at this Hotel called "Hotel Tiergarten", located at "Alt-Moabit 89, D-10559, Berlin ". Just let me know if this is a good location for fun and safety (generally speaking because I understand that big European cities are not completely safe. Just want to make sure that I am not in the Ghetto.) Thank you VERY much for your help on this. I am actually planning this trip for me and a bunch of friends, so whatever positive things that you have to say about the area would be most appreciated because the mothers of my friends would feel more comfortable in their kids going on my trip, knowing that knowledgeable people of this area approve of my choice of location and hotel.
