Considering the Ibis Berlin Dreilinden in Berlin?

Saturday afternoon at Hackescher Markt by Ekaterinburg
There were three stations I hoped to visit in Berlin : Friedrichstrasse, Hamburger and Hackescher Markt. In the end I only got to one, Hackescher Markt Station, just a five-minute tram ride north of Alexander Platz. For train station afficinados this is a big treat, and even if you're not particularly into stations except for transport purposes, I guarantee you'll like this one. It's a lovely, typically 19th century building , very red-brick, as all the best stations are and with some nice decorative details. Walking in from the tram stop there's a vey authentic vibe but outside it is a little bit naff, with orange palm trees and several other decidedly unauthentic details. Most of the arches have been taken over as shops and cafes now and the forecourt has lots of market stalls. After lunch it was very busy and stallholders seemed to be doing a brusque trade. This felt like Berlin to me and I really enjoyed the time I spent here.
