Schoenfeld Airport Express Service

by lazialos

Hi.

I will be flying to Schoenfeld Airport.

I want to know if I can use the Airport express service to city centre with a Welcome card, A BVG groupticket or a BVG daily ticket.

If not, then which trains, S-Bahns do they take me to Alexandersplatz??

Thanx

Airport Express train is a RE (RegionalExpress) train of DB and covered by BVG tickets. Thus also by the WelcomeCard. Only important is that the ticket covers the zones Berlin ABC (Schönefeld Airport is in zone Berlin C). These tickets cover generally all local public transport
- regional trains (RB, RE)
- S-Bahn
- U-Bahn
- trams
- buses
and even some ferries

BVG timetable

From: SXF
To: Berlin Alexanderplatz

With the BVG tickets/WelcomeCard you can use any connection to Alexanderplatz the timetable will suggest.

Hello,

the home page of the Berlin airports says:
"The specially identified regional train lines RE7 and RB14 run every half hour. Local public transport tickets are accepted on these trains. The journey is within fare zone C."

Regards,
Elena

Travel Tips for Berlin

Log on to Virtual Tourist from Berlin - Using Net

by Pakistaniguy

There are many internet cafes nearly in every major block of the city. But the good and reliable with speed and connection are EasyInternet cafes by Easy groups of companies. I remember that i used internet from this cafe at Alexander Platz. It's on the first floor of Dunkin Donuts :-)

transport system

by somoslagente

people say the trains are constantly inspected and that ticket collecters are always on the go. i bought a weeks ticket and no one checked me once - so if you wanna risk it......

the transports pretty good. but s bahn stations don´t always meet up with U bahn stations and sometimes its actually easier to walk!!! lots of attractions are situated pretty nearby each other

Beautiful old houses

by matcrazy1

The first documentary mention of Cölln (Berlin's sister town that time) comes from 1237. So, Berlin is over 700 years old city which surely means that it's... relatively young European city.

But I could easily find hundreds amazing, well-preserved old buildings around the city especially in Charlottenburg and Kreuzberg districts (belonged to West Berlin until 1989) and along/around Unter den Linden (former East Berlin). My suggestion is to turn from the main streets to see some of them.

Just first example on my picture (enlarge, please): corner building at Bleibtreustraße and Mommenstraße. Pay attention to beautiful architectural details of the front elevation like the helmet roof and the bay windows.
Wouldn't you like to live there? It's very good location - quiet and safe street. But must be expensive, I am sure. Hmm... I could see quite many advertisements of doctors and lawyers on houses around.

Shopping at Friedrichstraße

by hundertmorgen about Kaufhaus Lafayette

For a retail spectacle of another sort, try window-shopping the Kaufhaus Lafayette, where the architecture is as impressive as the inventory. When we went there they had a fantastic exhibition on Barbie dolls wearing designers fashion... (watch my travelogue for that!)

Visit the Bar after a beautiful and romantic evening in Berlin . . . take a late night snack . . . take one or two drinks . . . watch the Berlin high society . . . enjoy this typical Paris Bar in the middle of Berlin
Try the spaghetti dishes - they are very delicious Causual or elegant but no Jeans and Sneakers
