    Clubhouse Hostel.: Clubhouse Hostel.
  • Tip Rating:
  • $12 dorm, $20/night/bed single

'the most central hostel in town' right in the heart of the Mitte. One of the best things about this hostel is its location. the time out guide said that this place had a grungy smell, which simply wasn't true; it was quite clean, bright and cheerful when I stayed, and conveniently located above the Kalkscheune club. i liked the cobblestone courtyard and the random opportunities to sneak into a darkwave room inbetween lots of sweaty clubbing Germans in the middle of the night. there's also a dirt path to Tacheles (see nightlife) across the street and easy late night runs to the Brasilian hot dog stand.

    Madison City Suites... The bedroom
  • Tip Rating:

  • The beds here are just amazing! I slept in no time! The next morning there was a little breakfast buffet available in the lobby. Not so much choice, but it was very good! Coffee, tea, fresh squeezed orange juice and several types of croissants.

    Hotel Albatros: Hotel Albatros
  • Tip Rating:
  • We stayed here for 10 days. According to me this is a good hotel. It's modern, has all facilities you need and isn't that expensive. The neighbourhood isn't busy and noise and within 10 minutes you are in the centre of Berlin.

    Hackescher Markt: Central location
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • I like this small hotel because of the nice rooms and the friendly staff.

The Hotel Hackescher Markt is located next to the S-Bahn station wiith the same name.
The Subway is also easy to reach.
The whole area around has lots of small restaurants with very individual personality.

    Villa Amadeus: Villa Amadeus
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • The Villa Amadeus is a family-run hotel in a newly renovated Victorian era building situated right in the heart of Berlin. It's very easy to pass this place by because it is hardly obvious that it is there. To get in from the street and to get your car into the main courtyard, you must manually open two large wooden doors, which almost resemble those of a manor or small castle. Once inside, it's easy to forget that you are right in the middle of downtown because of the peaceful, quiet atmosphere.

Many fascinating city sights are located near the hotel. These include the Tiergarten, the Brandenburg Gate, the Zoo, Potsdamer Platz, the Kurfürstendamm, and many others.

The owners are kind but speak very limited English. The rooms are very cozy and amenities include: shower, telephone, radio, cable TV, hairdryer, wake-up call service, and breakfast.

Like most places in Germany, Villa Amadeus offers a superb breakfast spread, which is complimentary. Breakfast is very early, usually ending at 9:00am at the latest. Foods offered include: fresh baked breads and rolls, boiled eggs, cucumber slices, fruits, meats, yogurts and granola, juices, tea and coffee, spreads, pâtés, and more. The breakfast spreads were always my favorite part of any stay in Germany!

123berlinzimmer.de: Good web site for accommodation
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • I used this site to book our accommodation in Berlin. The site looks a bit messy, but the service is quick and good! There are lots of affordable apartments on this site and the booking is easy. Once you make a reservation they send you e-mail which you have to confirm to finalize the booking. After your confirmation they send you contact information of the land lord. I had no problems with the site nor with the landlord, so I would recommend this to all.

Our clean and cosy 32-m2-apartment was in Prenzlauer Berg. The linen and towels were included in the price, we paid 160 € for 4 nights. The neighbourhood was nice and pretty quiet, yet there was lots of cafes and restaurants nearby.

Augustiner Hof: Barrier-free 4*-hotel in Berlin's vibrant heart
  • Tip Rating:
  • Augustiner Hof is a privately held hotel that offers a somewhat Mediterranean flair that goes nicely with the vibrant borough of "Mitte", where the hotel is located in a calm side-road. I'd suggest to ask for a room facing the beautiful backyard nonetheless, since Auguststrasse is a cobblestone road.

The small hotel provides eight barrier-free rooms.
Service is sometimes a bit slow but always friendly.

Friedrichstrasse, Hackesche Höfe, Heckmanns Höfe and countless bars and restaurants as well as some theaters are in close proximity.

Rooms have wooden floors and warm colours.
There's a nice backyard to enjoy your breakfast.
