More about Mitart Hotel

Arty Accommodation

by Kariba about mitArt Pension

mitArt Pension is situated in Mitte, the heart of what was formerly East Berlin and now a thriving community for artists and alternative culture. It lies on the intersection with Oranienburger Strasse and is a stones throw away from Tacheles - a vibrant artists commune and centre.

The pension itself is not only a living space, but a gallery with each of the rooms having its own artistic theme. The room I stayed in was large & comfortable with shared shower & toilet. Literally a few steps away from Oranienburger Tor u-bahn (U6 Line), mitArt Pension is clean, friendly and peaceful given its central location.

Easily within walking distance of a number of sights - the Reichstag, Museumsinsel, Brandenberg Tor, Tiergarten & Alexanderplatz to name a few, mitArt Pension is an ideal starting point for any visit to Berlin.

At the time I stayed at mitArt Pension, there was talk of it moving to a bigger location as it only had nine rooms. Please check the address as it may have changed. Also note that prices are likely to have changed over the past few years, but the room rates also included a great breakfast served up by the hostess. If I'm not mistaken - the hostess' name was Christiane and she was very helpful & informative. Another word of warning - payment was cash only. Doubled up as a gallery.
