Transportation from Tegel to Friedrichstrasse 96

We (four adults) will be flying into Berlin and need suggestions to get from the airport to the Jolly Hotel Vivaldi either by cab or shuttle and how much it would cost.

With 4 people and baggage it makes best sense to hop in a cab at Tegel airport. Friedrichstrasse is in "Mitte" (= center east), and cost should not exceed EUR 35-40.

Reichstag Dome

Reichstag, another landmark of Berlin, has been the focus of momentous events in German history. In May 1999, it once again became the seat of the Bundestag, the German Parliament.
It was a British architect created this state-of-the-art parliamentary facility, preserving only the building's historical shell. Its most striking feature is a giant glass dome hovering above the plenary hall. At the centre is a mirror-clad funnel that reflects the light in myriad directions, which is quite funny.

I was talking with Germans about cars a few times. Surely they were proud of German cars and especially of top-class models of Mercedes. No wonder. The company is well known of top quality, the most prestigous cars and... the highest prices but worth the cost. Whatever you think it would not be the best option to start the discussion with a German at criticism of their cars.
Walking along main shopping street called Kurfürstendamm or shortly Ku-Damm I paid my attantion to the large store of Mercedes-Benz with quite many people inside on Saturday midday. If you like Mercedes and want to see the new and concept cars of the symbol of German motorisation it's place to stop for you.

Mercedes-Benz-Autohaus Dagefeld at Kurfürstendamm 175, southern side of Ku-Damm at corner of Knesebeckstraße. U-bahn: Uhlandstraße (last station of U19).
Kreuzkirche, Schmargendorf, 1927-1929

A remarkable and impressive building in expressionist style. The facades are made of the most elaborate brickwork, forming ornaments and colums all of bricks.
The interior is dominated by the form of the parabola. Entering the steeple through the main portal, you first reach the wedding chapel on the ground floor of the steeple. A low corridor, entirely in parabola shape, leads to the wide and light church.

How to get in: Open on Sundays 9.30-17.00. If you want to visit on other days, contact the parish. Be prepared for a reluctant welcome, though. I have never ever been directly asked anywhere else to make a donation because a church had been opened for me, and I visited several hundreds of churches during my research. (I didn't get a tour, all they did was unlock the door.) Strange atmosphere.

They sold young, trendy, up-to-the-minute clothing and accesories for girls in their teens and twens. In opinion of Urszula(matcrazy0) good choice of interesting clothes for young feeling women - simply her recommendation. Woman's clothes. Reasonable prices.
Trams

Trams are a great way to get around Berlin. They are split into the above ground service (S-Bahn) & Underground service (U-Bahn). I was rather confused when trying to buy a ticket to ride but a local told me not to worry - due to the history of the place the authorities are very trusting that people will pay their fares. I don't know what the consequence of getting caught is!!
