The Park Inn is located on the Alexanderplatz in the heart of the downtown district of Berlin. It is within short walking distance of numerous places of interest, such as Unter den Linden boulevard, Museums Island and Brandenburg Gate.
Unique Quality: The hotel is huge (945 rooms), but the rooms are nice and comfortables.-
Park Inn Hotel
Hi, just wanted to know peoples comments on this hotel or the area. Is it central to all ammenities and good transport system close by?
kind regards
Lindsay, haven't stayed in the Hotel Park Inn but Alexanderplatz has been undergoing a lot of rebuilding for the last couple of years. This area of Berlin has become quite touristy in the last 10 years. As far as travelling goes you are really well placed. The tourist office does a 72 hour pass which gets you on all sorts of transport, trams, buses, u-bahn and s-bahn. I've got to be honest and say all my travel is around Berlin Mitte, that's the district name. There are a few cheapish places to eat and drink but beware there are also some very expensive places, not suprising in the middle of the city. Best food option will be south east asian or of course wurst. Have a look at my homepage for a couple of ideas.
The hotel is fairly new -- it's a huge building. The lower floors might be subject to traffic noise. And from my experience in such huge hotels with 400 + rooms, some rooms are not well looked-after and sometimes you are unfortunately enough to be placed into such a room.
Location is good for all sights in Berlin-Mitte. Even though it's already 2-3 km to the Brandenburg gate. Lots of eating places around, also some supermarkets and bakeries where you can buy water, beer, chips, fruits for very cheap money making you largely independent of the hotel's minibar.
why not check out the city stay hostel, very clean and the private rooms have a small balcony, excellent location
