Great, Hotel / Staff and Location.

The Park Plaza met all of our needs on our weekend in Berlin.

We were a party of 3 staying in 2 rooms on a leisure weekend in Berlin (For Leisure, read Drinking.) We arrived in 2 separate groups which caused a minor confusion on checking in - nothing to do with the hotel, just our inability as a group to communicate which of our names the rooms were booked under.

Following that the hotel stay went off smoothly.
Everything was as I expected it - clean rooms, amenities as described etc...

We had drinks in the hotel bar on each of the days we stayed and the staff were very pleasant - and they passed on some good information to us during our stay (A restaurant we enjoyed specifically - Trattoria Boccacelli)

The hotel location was perfect was us it is located for easy use of the subway services - Märkisches Museum is just a minute walk away & Spittelmarkt is also very close and it is a small walk into the Alexanderplatz area.

    Well located in Mitte

Noboady likes to get to their hotel at near midnight just to be told 'Sorry but our system double-booked your room so we'll ship you to another of our hotel right now'. Especially when you very carefully chose the hotel for its central location & the other one is in the middle of nowhere in the suburbs.

Good thing: they paid for taxi there & back (our 2nd night was at the Wallstrasse hotel), we got a free breakfast in the other hotel and a free drink at Wallstrasse. They also left a small plate of fruit in our room to say sorry.

Bad thing: waste of a precious hour and a half of our already short stay being shipped back & forth & checked in & out, went to bed really late, the Prenslau Berg hotel is not as good as the Wallstrasse one & the free fruit had obviously been rescued from some buffet or other (crumbles on the grapes!).

The room and bathroom were very spacious but since our room had a door (locked obviously) leading to the next room, we could hear everything, which was unacceptable for a hotel with 4 stars.

Unique Quality: Very well located, 15/20 mins walk to Museum island and right next to a U2 stop.

    Fashionable High Quality Hotel

I liked my 2-day stay at this hotel. My room was elegant, large and comfortable, and wheelchair access was excellent. Good breakfast. Service in the hotel restaurant was somewhat slow, I waited nearly 45 minutes for my rather mediocre hamburger. Very nice surroundings close to one of the waterways in Berlin-Mitte.

Excellent value for money

by TripAdvisor Member jessfess

Stayed 2 nights in the Park Plaza Wallstreet and found it to be excellent value for money (like most hotels in Germany). The internet rates direct from the hotel are very competitive. The hotel was very nice - rooms were basic but modern, comfortable and clean. The bathroom was excellent and roomy.
Location is great for sightseeing as you can easily get to places from the underground station 3min from the hotel. However, it is not as convenient for going out at night as there is not as much nearby. Nevertheless, the hotel was excellent value for money and I would definitely stay again.

Super bathroom. Excellent value for money.

This is a super newly refurbished hotel. I stayed here with work and was delighted by my room, well not actually the room itself but more importantly the bathroom. Its amazing how many hotels overlook a bathroom, but not here, my bathroom was huge, with an oversized bath and quality fittings all decked out in slate and glass. If like me you are a bathroom girl( although there is nothing wrong with the rooms themselves), then this is the place to go.

Businesslike but cosy

by TripAdvisor Member Wijo_Koek

We booked two rooms (one for two and one for three persons).
The hotel is very modern, in bright colors with references to business everywhere. For instance, the floor has stock-prices printed on it and behind the front desk there's a huge blow-up photo of businessmen throwing money in the air.
There's an in-house auditorium and there's plenty of room to hold small business meetings.
We were in Berlin just for fun but this hotel suited our needs just as well. For a reasonable price we got two nice rooms. One of them was located on the frontside of the building and was very light.
The staff was friendly and helpfull. Only the breakfast was a bit pricey, but we found a small café just behind the hotel (take the back-entrance of the hotel) where they served us a delicious breakfast.
The hotel is located in a quiet street. The subway-entrance of the U-Bahn (line U2) is only a few meters walking from the hotel.
There are also some very good restaurants in the vicinity (esp. near the river).

Berlin is better in the Spring

by TripAdvisor Member uglybettyCountyDown

We had stayed in Berlin last year in February near the zoo and had only been moderately impressed with the city, but we decided to go back in April this year. What a difference Spring makes! We stayed in the Park Plaza on the eastern side of Berlin and were much more impressed on our second visit. We found it much more central being near the U Bahn and came across Hackescher Markt in the evenings which was buzzing with restaurants. Our stay was excellent, the breakfast buffet fantastic and they even made us a breakfast bag of goodies for our early departure.

Great choice

I just recently spent three nights at the Wallstreet and enjoyed it very much. It is a beautiful hotel. We were actually ungraded to a junior suite because we had asked for adjoining rooms. The bathrooms are very nice and spacious, with all the extras. The beds had comfy linens, also.

Although it is a bit out of the mainstream and in a quieter area of the city (which i really liked), it is only steps from the subway which we used all the time.

We got some very good rates, also. They were lower than indicated on this site. The staff was also helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend it, especially to American tourists.

Nice hotel, OK service, great breakfast

by TripAdvisor Member klksboys

We got a great price on this hotel from Priceline and it's a really modern, clean hotel. The breakfast was great and much bigger than a lot of places we've stayed. The restaurant and breakfast staff were very nice and helpful. The front desk staff left a lot to be desired.
They were somewhat rude on check out and not willing to see if there were rooms closer together. Seems pretty simple to at least check. The location is decent, but a bit of a walk to most sights. I would stay here again, but only if the price was significantly lower than other options.

Average stay

We were checked in by a rather frosty receptionist to find we'd been given the tiniest of rooms. This was strange as during our whole weekend we hardly saw any other guests - so it was clear they weren't busy/full.

The room itself was unacceptably dusty – it looked like it hadn’t been occupied for sometime. It was modern although the finance link to everything doesn't really work and ends up looking a bit tacky. Our bathroom featured a shower (no bath) squeezed into such a tiny space it made it difficult to close the door. This caused the bathroom to constantly flood. The sink, while very trendy, had no plug which causes an unnecessary waste of water.

The location is OK...fairly close to everything, but it's certainly not with the main sights on your doorstep.

Overall, this was an OK stay but the experience could have been a lot better – especially as they had virtually no other guests.

Excellent rooms at a reasonable price

by TripAdvisor Member YearAroundEurope

Rooms are on the small side, but are comfortable and well appointed, and the space is creatively used. I appreciated the professional hair dryer in the bathroom, made all the better because it could be turned off and on and I didn't have to hold the button in the On position the way dryers are at many other hotels. The only downside was that the hotel uses Swisscom for internet access in the rooms, and it is not only expensive but unreliable. However, the hotel did not charge us for the internet access when we told them of our problems with it. Another plus for the hotel is that it is located very close to a subway station, making it convenient to get around town.

an excellent hotel

by TripAdvisor Member Anon088

This hotel surpassed all my expectations. First class! The staff are friendly and professional. The rooms are cleaned daily and very comfortable. I was concerned about the bathroom after reading other reviews but it is not an issue! The door has patterned glass which is impossible to see through and gives absolute privacy.
The hotel is ideally located with a u-bahn literally seconds away. The trains are prompt so you can be in the other end of Berlin in five minutes. The location of the hotel is quiet and attractive and within walking distance of scenic parks and cafes. We ate a couple of nights in the hotel bar area and the food was reasonably priced and of good quality. I could not fault this hotel during my stay.
