I will be in St. Christopher's Berlin. Any word on the best CurryWurst place (beef one) near the place? How about Turkish food?
Currywurst made from beef is VERY hard to find, mostly it is pork sausage (also because most people think that beef is inferior for currywurst...). A snack bar selling currywurst is at Alexanderplatz inside the station and directly at the TV tower.
About turkish food: There are some good snack bars selling Döner west of Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz at Torstraße corner Rosenthaler Straße.
If you want currywurst that doesn't contain pork you need to go to a supermarket, either Kaufland or Real. There you can buy sausage that is made out of a mix of chicken and turkey. Bruzzler by Wiesenhof and Putenbratwurst by Heidemark http://www.heidemark.de are halal. Pick up some currywurst sauce from a snackstall. Fry the sausages yourself in a pan, cut it up and add the curry
sauce. Eat with bread.
It shouldn't be difficult to find places that sell halal Turkish food. Note that not every Turkish food stall sells halal food, quite a few have dishes that contain pork so it is a good idea to ask.
Here is a list of Iranian restaurants in Berlin, maybe there is one close to you.

As Berlin is the second largest Turkish city in the world you will not have a problem to find Turkish food - in restaurants or simple Döner stalls.
Thank you so much for comprehensive reply. Thank you.
@t_ma......What is your personal favot as far as Iranina and turkish food are concerned..how about real Berlin stuff
@kakapo2: sorry for being a mr. know-it-all, but this is totally wrong. You could call Berlin the city with the highest population of turkish people on the european continent behind Istanbul - that would be true.
Arguably the best turkish restaurant in town is Defne in Kreuzberg:

While it is true that many Germans speak at least some English, it is always helpful to know some of the local language. Berlin, in my opinion, is the perfect destination for someone who hashad college level German and wants to gain experience speaking the language. The reason for this, is that Hochdeutsche, the standard, textbook German, is largely taken from the Berlin dialect and thus the German one learns in school is directly applicable to the day to day speech of Berlin. You don't need to worry too much about funky dialects and unverstehbar accents when you're still a beginner. You can actually use the German you've learned on the street and without leaning on your friends.
If you don't speak German and don't want to speak English, I find that most Germans also have at least a passing knowledge of French and usually have some other second language as well. Not only that, but there are a lot of people from all over the world in Berlin for one reason or other and their lingua franca is of course, English.
First things first....

THE BUILDING
It accommodates 550 offices for delegate, 19 meeting rooms and approximately 450 offices of the committees, the visitor service of the Bundestag and a restaurant, who stand also for visitors openly.
The best part of the building is the outside. It is next to the water and eye catching. What more can you want?

IF YOU LIKE MY POST PLEASE GIVE POSITIVE FEEDBACK, THANKS.
Quite a number of street-sellers and shops, situated mostly around Checkpoint Charlie, offers "reliquia - reliquiorum" of what was once DDR (Deutche Demokratische Republik). It is nothing but worthless trash! Do not waste your time and money here.
i can't guarantee that every saturday night here is good, or that it always will be good, but in the last few months of the summer maria has proved to be so fantastic and unexpectedly down to earth yet fun that it earns my superstar club of the year award for 2003. a little of that is because ostgut down the street closed down on new year's eve and its crazy mix of countryside boys and girls, wacky chic mitte chicks, and tattooed gay muscle guys fled to maria. you also know how I always say techno is so boring (boom boom boom). well, maria is so good that it changed my attitude, and i even like electro when it's done well here. let's just hope they don't realize how good it's been getting and insert secret mind control messages into the music. there is no dress code. thank god!
