To See, Hear and Experience Berliner Dom by grishaV1
I love cathedrals and Berlin has many. My favorite is the Berliner Dom. To enter when services are not being held you must pay 3?, but on Sundays I think you can get in free when concerts or special services not being held. I have gone just to see it but also for a concert of Bach music that is played on the antique organ that take almost a whole side of the inner dome it seems. At Christmas and New Years Times there are many famous musical and singing concerts held here, but right now not so many. Upcoming concerts in February schedule:
Feb 7-The music of Bach and Mendelssohn played by Michael Pohl
Feb 11-There is a theological sermon given by Dr. Anke Martiny and J?rgen Rennert
and then on
Feb 28-a special concert featuring the music of Mozart and the Holland Concert choir, with Matthias Erben and Stephen Kavelaar
Prices usually range from 7 or 8 Euro up to 18Euros.

Berliner Dom WebsiteI´ve visited alone just to sit in the private balcony on the upper levels and listen to the faint sounds of a tour guide describing to listeners about the history of the place. Also I´ve visited with classmates, again, as the teacher took newcomers to the city on a tour. Its a very calm and special place, one feels enormous peace there.
