visiting museums - Pagamormuseum, Bohuas etc. the Palace of Sanssouce & the New Palace in Posdam, both the gardens are huge, actually I think the new palace is better than Sanssouce Palace, the later looks some kinds of odds.

Hi fellow traveleres!
I will b e visiting Berlin next week - which is the Orthodox Easter weekend. So I was wondering if there is a Greek Orthodox - or even Russian - Church in Berlin, where I can so on Saturday night?
I will be living near K-damm. Can you recommend any not very expensive restaurants around there? I know it's hard to find something not touristy in the centre but any ideas?
Thanx!

Area around Savignyplatz is a good place for restaurants.

Here e.g. the menu of one restaurant there with prices.

Terzo Mondo - a rather famous Greek restaurant there

If you can live with these prices you'll be fine. This is not cheapest area of Berlin. And these places are rather stylish/trendy. Not every restaurant as a website or even their menu online.
there is even a russian-orthodox cathedral in Berlin, not that far away from Kurfuerstendamm: Hohenzollerndamm 166. Just don't know the dates. maybe you find something here: http://www.rokmp.de/
well, Kurfuerstendamm is a long street... but there are plenty of non-expensive (dish around 10 euro) restaurants. especially around olivaer platz, kantstraße, Savignyplatz and near Zoologischer Garten.

GO TO MEMORIAL CHURCH
Here, around the ruins of the Memorial Church, life buzzes from morning untill night. This is where the legendary Ku'damm begins. Start your adventure tour with line 100, to be found close to the Bahnhof Zoo RAILWAY STATION.
Treptow Crematorium has become an object of study for enthusiastic friends and students of contemporary architecture from all over the world.
We went there one day on our shorttrip and I must say it really worths a visit although it takes some time to go there by train and bus.
But you can combine it with a visit at Treptower Park, the sculpture "Molecule Man" at the river Spree and a coffee stop at the Flutgraben (Restaurant "Freischwimmer" and the "Club der Visionäre").
Bus, Tube, Tram: S 6, S 8, S 9, S 10, S 45, S 46 Baumschulenweg; Bus 166
Hours of opening: Mon-Fri 9.00-15.00
I grew up going back and forth to germany to visit family. My uncle lives right off the Ku'dam and the first time he took me to ka de we I was floored! It's been a few years since I've been there but if you are a gourmet food connoisseur or wine lover then it's worth the trip. The store is indeed pricey but if you want a good meal and some good wine or beer, some nice chocolates to take home you won't be disappointed if you go. Berlin (Kurfurstendamm the main street) in itself is full of high end shops, wonderful restaurants and bars. It's a diverse city and even more so since the wall has come down. I find it to be very friendly and most people speak some english. Hmm. I believe last I was there a beer was a few euros but if you go into the supermarket down below it's pretty competetive but you are there more for the atmosphere than cheap prices.
Wohnzimmer means ‘living room’, and that’s exactly the feel they try to achieve in here, with a room filled with elderly sofas and chairs you could get lost in for several days. The bar is made up of decommissioned kitchen cabinets, and the barflies look as though they’re in here every evening (they probably are). On busy summer nights, the bar overflows into the street beyond, but really, you want to be on one of the soft chairs, surrounded by friends and sipping a beer or a caipirinha: they make some of the best, and best-value, in the city. There are plenty of students in here, but since German students are often in their late 20s or early 30s, that’s not the negative it might be in other countries! None.
