The suite -Hotel is in a perfect position to get about, close to underground and bus outside , 10 minutes walk to potsdamer platz and all the sites, 5 minutes from check point charlie,
The rooms are big and comfy , hotel areas are always clean mixture of tourist and business clients.
Also slightly cheaper next door is the main Ibis Hotel, and again their range student hotel all on the one block

Suitehotel Berlin is situated in a peaceful area near Potsdamer Platz, and it's only a short walk from Checkpoint Charlie. Only a few steps off the hotel door there's the s-bahn station Anhalter Bahnhof.
The rooms in the hotel are spacious, clean and the interior is very colourful. In our air-conditioned double room we had a large double bed, an extra bed/sofa, a TV, a writing desk and a kitchenette. The bathroom was big with separate shower and bathtub.
The only thing I didn't like about this hotel, was the breakfast. They served complimentary tea/coffee and croissants, which was ok but as for myself I'd like to eat more than that in the mornings. They also had these plastic boxes which you could buy (don't remember the price) which contained cheese, jam, yoghurt etc. Didn't try them out, as IMO they were quite expensive. On our second morning we went to a near by restaurant for breakfast and it was a lot better than what the hotel had to offer.
Hi
First time ever in Berlin this January for 4 days. Flying into Berlin Schoenefeld Airport on a Tuesday 21:00hrs. Looking for advice on the following
What Hotel. - We have read Tripadvisor and we have identified a Hotel Switch Hotel near Potsdamer Platz. Is this a good hotel/area.
What part of Berlin should we stay in and what to see. We are not very interested in nightlife apart from plays/opera etc.
Are main interest will be the tourist stuff. Check point Charlie, Jewish museum etc.
Are we travelling to the right area and is it safe etc.
Thanks all
Jo
With your interests Potsdamer Platz would be certainly a good choice.
But are you sure about "Switch Hotel"? This hotel is neither in the phone book nor in any listing I checked.
In your case I would recommend a hotel in Mitte, Tiergarten (e.g. Potsdamer Platz) or Charlottenburg (e.g. Kurfürstendamm).

A good idea is to start your first Berlin visit with a walking tour. E.g.

Not heard of it - but one cannot know every hotel in Berlin.
Near Anhalter Bahnhof. Close to the Checkpoint Charlie and the Jewish Museum.
Location is definitly OK for what you are looking for.
