The original does not exist any more, thanks to World War II. There are plans to rebuild it and a fake made from canvas with a print of the facades has been put up. It is in Berlin on the bank of the Spree, not far from the former location of the palace.
What internet access keeps you from using Wikipedia while it allows you to use a travel forum?
This forum does not create direct links, the web addresses must be copied and pasted into your browser - maybe that is the problem?

This is a huge city! It would take a great deal of time to really see this city! Get out and walk, taxi, bus, and boat! You still won't see it all...but you can try! The cab drivers were great...they seemed to feel obligated to give a history lesson! I loved it! What personality! They really wanted to elaborate about 'The Wall.' Great inside info! This is a photo of a portion of the wall saved as art! And a woman obviously looking for bus fare!
Spree River
by bugulma
I like water in every sort of it, river, lake, sea, ocean. So I liked walking and enjoying Spree River views. The river flows across the city and I think it would be nice to have river trip along the city but I don't know whether it is possible (in winter I didn't see ships :-))

Hear 68 bells at one place!
by matcrazy1
This 42 m (138 ft) high tower on my picture dominated the view from the steps of western facade of Reichstag towards west that was towards Tiergarten - Berlin's version of Central Park (or maybe Central Park is New York version of Berlin's Tiergarten?). At first I thought that it was a tower of Japanese modern temple - look at its roof.
But it was the carillon placed next to the House of World Cultures. It was the largest carillon in Europe and fourth largest in the world, opened in 1987 to commemorate the 750th anniversary of Berlin. The belltower of black granite was a present of Mercedes-Benz company and was often called by the Berliners "Big Benz". 68 bells weighing 48 tons were installed there. The carillon was computer controlled and resounded twice daily: at midday and at 6 pm. Hmm... not at my time, I skipped it :-(.
By the way the world's largest swinging bell and carillon is located in the World Peace Bell Center in Newport, Kentucky, USA.

Irish in Berlin
by Sileas about The Old Emerald Isle
This Pub has to be one of the best Irish Pubs in Berlin - maybe even the best... It manages to preserve an original pub flair, that most other places never have...
There is live music at least twice a week and pub quiz (in English and German) on others.
The staff is mixed British/Irish and German, as is the audience.
Besides the usual beers, ales and ciders the pub also serves good food, nothing exceptional, but really tasty. casual
