The Emperor
This guy looked familiar to me - he is the spitting image of the statues on Broad Street in Oxford, whose origins I have been trying to work out for a long time. If anyone knows what this bust represents, please let me know.

All over the park of Sanssouci you will find plenty of great sculptures like the one on my picture, showing Friedrich the Great on his horse. Friedrich had the nickname " der alte fritz" - the old Fritz, mainly because he was going in his carriage across his country in order to talk to the common people and he tried to convince them to grow potatoes. it needed several years before he had convinced them, to eat the roots and throw aways the "fruits"
Impressive "collection" of gardens and castles ended only in 1918 (started out in 18th century).
Main attraction is Sanssouci (from french "without concerns") castle and frontstanding vinegard terraces.
The 'Without worries' palace in Potsdam is so close to Berlin, you should go and see it.
It is very pretty, with large grounds and gardens.
Various members of the Prussian royal family had palaces and places built here at various times. The place has survived all sorts of turmoil and should be a worthwhile visit.
This picture shows the steps where the vines grow at the back of Sansouci. It is amazing, they have set glass panels to get the sunto warm the vines...
The front of the Sans Souci faces a fountain surrounded by vine-covered terraces, statuary, and perfectly groomed hedges and trees.
This fountain marks the centerpiece of a giant park which stretches far beyond the palace and contains a large number of palaces and other classic buildings.
