Eschborn - "travel a head"
Well, well. Eschborn happens to be the suburb of Frankfurt where I live. A place best seen disappearing in in the rear window of your car. It is a typical unspectacular suburb with nothing to see - with one exception: The sculpture "travel a head" from contemporary artist Florian Borkenhagen. It is a metre-sized head sculpture that actually travelled round the world from 1998 to 2002 in container ships. I always drove past the sculpture not knowing about its significance until I saw a photo in "National Geographic" with the background story. Now, whenever I drive past this sculpture I wonder what this piece of stone has seen and to what places it has been. No reason for a detour to visit Eschborn, but an interesting travel-related fact nonetheless.
