The hotel is conveniently situated across the main trainstation. Since public transport is free and very efficient this is a very big plus. In fact, it is faster to take the train to the airport than taking a cab ($30).
The hotel is not posh but if you intend to do "tourist-y" things then this is for you. I am very particular with the bathroom and the scent of the room, so for me I'll give them a 4 (5 being the highest). Two things that made me not give them a perfect score are: tiny hairstrand on the wall of the tub and the fact that the towels & sheets don't have that sanitized scent.
When you're hungry during odd hours, you can always go to the train station and eat warm (yes! freshly baked!) croissants.
Most of the rooms there were like mine. A balcony with the view of the beautiful trainstation and the bustling city.
On a nice spring day you can easily walk to Romer, the shopping area (Zeil) and restaurants.
