Youth Hostel
As a student at the time I visited Frankfurt, I selected youth hostel instead of Hotel. Youth hostel here was clean and not crowded. I was there almost Christmas time, so not many tourists. The refectory provided a good food for young travellers. Shower room was clean. It was the first time for me to stay at youth hostel and I found that it was not so bad at all.
Unique Quality: Provided bed-linen, full breakfast (bread, butter, chees, jams, orange juice, coffee and tea).
Room with 6-12 beds.
Room with 4 beds. (Youth Guest Hostel)
From the airport, take bus no. 61 to Sudbahnhof. At Sudbahnhof you have to change to tram 14 to Lokalbahnhof then walk 300 meters down the river, or you take the S8 to the train station, then see how to get from the train station to the youth hostel written above.

Frankfurt's Favourite Budget Address
I must say that the rules and the quality of this youth hostel have changed since I stayed in in 25 years ago. For one thing it's more secure, but not as secure as a regular hotel. Still, you can beat the price - 20 -25 Euro per person, including breakfast. The rooms have between 4 and 12 beds, and if you are there with just a friend, your luggage cannot be guaranteed to be protected from theft, so don't leave anything valuable in your room.
If you haven't made reservations, you probably can't stay here in the summer.
Unique Quality: One thing you can't beat is the view, if you get a room on the river side. Still, this place still has group showers without like in the high school gym, and stall toilet rooms. They have only been able to partially modernize some rooms for adult travellers. The breakfast you get here isn't the same quality you could get at a corner cafe, so you might want to skip it.
Normally YOU CANNOT STAY HERE WITHOUT AN IYC MEMBERSHIP CARD!
Irritating is the fact that the City of Frankfurt, often forces the Haus of Jugend to accept street kids for a night or two, instead of putting them in a juvenile delinquency center, which sort of downplays the security factor. Hostels are generally better outside of big German cities, so it's really better to stay in a small hotel.

Youth hostel in Frankfurt
The youth hostel in Frankfurt is very clean and has bedrooms from 1-12 beds. It is located only 10 minutes (by foot) to the city center on the other side of the Main river.
Unique Quality: The prices are great and there are a lot of young people. Great for backpackers but also for families.

The only youth hostel in Frankfurt
There are rooms for 1, 2, 4, 6, 12 person, the prices start at 15 Euros per night for people who are under 27. Over 27 you have to pay 2-4 Euros more depending on the room. Check out the Homepgae for the detailed prices. Their homepage exists in 5 different languages.
Unique Quality: The rooms are pretty good, but the best thing about this hostel. It is 2 minutes away fgrom the bar district in Frankfurt, you don´t need a taxi to get to the city, you can walk and you have a perfect view over the city of Frankfurt
