    It is also close to the redlight district, but not to worry like any property like this it should have security on hand. The building from the outside is rather boring , 70ties architecture, looks like a east german "Plattenbau".

    But inside it is different, I guess the inside is more important than the outside.

    I have not stayed inside to descibe it.

    I don't know what it is, but I don't like this hotel. I especially did not enjoy the design of my room; it was too small and overstuffed with ugly furniture. The only enjoyable thing was the excellent breakfast buffet. But the Ibis Hotel costs half the rate and you still have 70 + € left -- enough for having the most opulent breakfast of your life!

    The InterContinental Frankfurt is perfectly located on the banks of the river Main, close to the city centre. Many of the key sightseeing attractions such as the Römer, Frankfurt Cathedral or St. Paul's Church are within walking distance. The unique museum embankment on the River Main as well as the financial district and exclusive shopping areas are close by. Frankfurt Airport is reachable within 20 minutes. The hotel has 770 rooms and suites of elegant comfort. All rooms in the River Wing feature high speed internet, public areas offer wireless LAN connection.

    The Fitness Club is situated on the ground floor of the River Wing. Modern gym machines including treadmills, stepper, cardio-bikes and various body-shaping equipment with weights.

  • Directions: When coming from the «Hauptbahnhof» (Main Central Station), turn left into Wilhelm-Leuschner-Strasse by driving around «Baseler Platz» square. The entrance to the underground garage of the InterContinental Frankfurt is on Wilhelm-Leuschner-Strasse.

    Spent three days here on my way to South Africa. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. They parked my car in front, not using the garage and saved me 28 euros a day, they called Lufthansa and got the airline to find my bags and get them delivered express style, their restaurant and sightseeing tips were spot on. We got the hotel through Hotwire at a rate of $99.00 a day and then opted for an upgrade for 20 euros to a room overlooking the Main River. This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at from a staff service view and would return again.

    Near the train station in a quiet part of town with easy access to the freeways.

    This is a very classy hotel. The main building is a bit dirty on the outside (Summer 2003, see picture, hotel at right) but inside there is absolutely no room for complaints. The service was also top-notch. Absolutely brilliant hotel, great location also near the city centre and the river is close and to the other side lies the city's old town..

    The consierge who sent a message through TV to assure that everything is OK was from Finland.. and the message was in finnish although we were in Germany.. :-)

    The Intercontinental is an average hotel. A bit overpriced. Nice views on the river though. Location could be a bit better.
