storing luggage at Frankfurt railway station
by Camellia36
Morning all,
I want to leave my main suitcase in Frankfurt for about 2½ weeks while using the train with a smaller bag. The Hostel will only have it for 24 hours and recommended the railway station, anyone with ideas on this please. I've looked at the map for the railway station but couldn't see any 'lockers' listed as such.
Cheers

Lockers exist in abundance but store your luggage for max. 72 hours.
There is a manned counter for storage of hand luggage but I have no idea how long they keep it, and if they take big suitcases.
Your best bet should be the luggage storage at Frankfurt Airport. They keep items for up to 3 months. Cost sums up, though. 5 € per 24 hours.

On the station's website they say that storage at the manned service point costs 5 Euro per day, no limitation mentioned. The main problem is that it is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

Travel Tips for Frankfurt am Main
Train Station (Hbf) Food Kiosks
by ATXtraveler
When in Frankfurt, we really enjoyed the ability to try many types of local food. Each train station (Haptbahnhof), seemed to have 3-5 different kiosks serving food and/or drinks. Typically there was a fresh juice stand, a bakery, and a sandwich shop at minimum. The sandwiches were always inexpensive, and were a great alternative to the higher priced food and beverages on the trains.
A salami or wurst sandwich in these shops would run 1,50 euros, and a nicer ham or schnitzel sandwich would be 2,50 or 3 euros. There also seemed to be an endless number of options for bread, including plain, croissant, pretzel, or baguette breads with or without cheese and meat. I thoroughly enjoyed the pretzels with garlic butter!
Public Art - Märchen brunnen

This "fairy-tale fountain" (Märchen brunnen) is just off Untermainanlage, in front of the Frankfurt Opera building.
You're not a long way from Grimm brothers territory when you're in Frankfurt!
Main Cafe - a must during Summer
by amyhenderson
It is only open during Spring/Summer, whilst the weather is still warm. Its also one of the few bars to make use of the park running along the river, the Maincafý is no more than a bunch of tables and a beertap in a park. It's an incredibly popular spot on warm nights, when hundreds of people lounge around on the grass, Weissbier in hand, to watch the sun set behind the skyscrapers and the pretty lights come on. Beer, cocktails and nachos are available.
Its mostly locals that go here and the tourists don't yet know about it. This is chilling out in Summer, Frankfurt-style. All ages, all people, all welcome. Enjoy !! :0)
You'll find it on the southern Main bank, near the Architecture Museum and between the Untermainbrýcke and Holbeinsteg bridge.
I miss the beer!
by MzJess
You do not travel to another country to eat or drink the same food at home! I love Frankfurt's wines, beer, and food! Make sure you try the Apfelwine (Frankfurt original) and the Frankfurter (of course!). Oh, almost forgot....the White Sausage with the sweet sauce. I was kind of hesistant but it was very delicious!
I miss the breads...um...I think its time for another trip.
Kaisertempel
by mauro_pd
Again a restaurant really 'off'; this is located in Eppstein, 40 minutes by car from FFurt ontop of a hill in the Taunus region. The name is Kaisertempel cause it's locate by a monument overlooking the large Taunus valley ... better to call for a reservation @ 06198-34285.
