Frankfurt - A Gateway to my Travels
"I've hardly ever stuck around..."
In the years I've been to Frankfurt 6 times, if you include stopovers during flights.
1991: Hung around in my former company's office for a few hours and then, at the end of the trip stayed at a non-descript airport hotel the night before leaving.
2001: Had a 10 hour layover while waiting for my flight to Johannesburg. Took the train in to downtown Frankfurt and wandered around the streets, trying to stay awake. Then 4 hours in the aiport on the way home.
2005: Arrived at FRA but then immediately got a rental car and drove to the Netherlands. On the night before our return to the U.S. we stayed at the NH Frankfurt Airport hotel because we had an 8:30am flight the next day.
