I m going to frankfurt to praga, but I have some difficulties to buy a ticket
I found one that goes from Frankfurt(Main)Süd to praga
but I would like to know if it is easy to get there from the frnakfurt central station or if a I have to buy tickets in advance?
I m leaving to praga the 1/1/2010
Find your connections here: http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en
From: FRANKFURT(MAIN)
To: PRAHA
One-ways are available from EUR 29.
You can give Frankfurt Hbf (central station) as start point.
From: Frankfurt(Main)Hbf
This makes however only sense if you stay next to the Hbf. The normal routes from the airport or the old city to Frankfurt(Main)Süd (south station) are not via the central station. Thus give your *real* start point. You can even give e.g. the address of a hotel

> if a I have to buy tickets in advance?
Depends
a) if you want to save money, i.e. buy one of the discounted specials. These are limited in numbers and you better buy as soon as possible. But note that these specials are only valid for the booked connection. No change. No refund.
b) if you want to use the night train from Frankfurt(Main)Süd to Prague - this is a train with compulsory reservation. For a budget traveler a) applies. Otherwise I would book as soon as your plans are fix. Night trains can sell out. And the period over Christmas and New Year is a peak period for train travel.
It is exceptionally easy to take advantage of the bahn.de special advance fares.
You will get an email whcih you print out (it has a barcode) and must present this, with the card you used to pay, to the guard.
Quick, easy and effective....just make sure you remember to take the right card with you!

Till 4 January 2004 you have the chance to visit this exhibition. When I saw the announcements I didn't think that I would go there and finally I ended up yesterday to visit this fantastic exhibition.
Jana, my friend from Berlin, and I were sitting in the Schirn Cafe thinking about what doing next and I said just out of the blue without a real intention to do it "We could visit Dream Factory Communism" So we went to see it and we saw real fantastic art work !!! I'm really glad that we did it Here you find more information www.schirn-kunsthalle.de
Bring your visa card (you will need it), your laptop, all the suits you have at home, the best blackest shoes, and oh..I almost forgot..if you're a man, bring your girlfriend or wife with you because you won't find any better that her in Frankfurt :)) ..hey..just joking
Being a real fan of Goethe, I always enjoy visiting the places where he lived and worked. One of those is the Goethehaus in Frankfurt, where Goethe was born and grew up. It was completely destroyed in World War II, but has been lovingly restored. Most of the furniture is not actually from the Goethe family but shows how a typical prosperous household in the last years of the 19th century looks. Items of Goethe and his family can also be seen. The visitor receives a house plan that tells about each of the rooms and you can wander the house at your own pace. Downstairs you'll see the parlor, the kitchen and the dining room, upstairs the representative rooms are housed as well as the library - full with marvellous old books! - the room of Goethe's sister, his own room and his mother's rooms. All of them look just delightful, are excellently restored and breathe the atmosphere of life at Goethe's times. One room is dedicated to mementos of Goethe, his old writings, his birth announcement and other things. The descriptions on the house plan are concise but informative. It is a good place to go if you want to learn more about Goethe's youth, but also if you want to see how a wealthy family in those days lived. Also, it is enjoyable to be in such historic surroundings in the middle of modern hectic Frankfurt.
Here is part of the Frankfurt skyline as seen from another unusual vantage point, namely from the Camberger Bridge, which connects the Gutleut and Gallus discticts by crossing over the railroad tracks leading in and out of Frankfurt Central Station. The three tallest buildings are, from left to right, the Main Tower, the Silver Tower and the Commerzbank Tower.
To find out more about Frankfurt's twenty-two tallest buildings, have a look at the Frankfurt Skyline Countdown on my Land Hessen page.
