Business Hotel in Kassel
This review relates to my stay at this Hotel from the 10th to the 12th of February, 2009.
My stay at that Hotel was business related.
Upon arrival at the hotel and having parked my car, against a fee of 15 Euro per day, in the underground Hotel Parking garage, the check in was pretty quick, but also lacking the personal touch.
This is a typical example of a Business and Seminar Hotel, which is mainly frequented by people attending one of the many seminars that are being held there every day of the week. The location of the Hotel, which is more or less in an Industrial Estate, does not lend itself for the non-business traveller and I can not recommend this Hotel to persons travelling privately.
Once in the rooms, the first impression was the smell of paint. The Bathroom in the Room was exceptional large, with a bath/shower combination. The room itself was decorated in the style so typical for business hotels: smart, clean, but lacking any kind of “home from home” feeling. It was very disappointing to find that, despite the clientèle normally made up 100% from business traveller, one has to pay for Internet access. The Buffet type Breakfast, Lunch and Evening Meal was of surprisingly high quality and standard. The only little comment with regards to the food is the fact that it seems that every day the same dishes are being served. There are two bars in this hotel, one of which is situated in the basement. Both bars have a rather restricted offering and only the bar in the cellar, is catering for smokers. The offering concerning meeting rooms and their facilities is rather impressive.
