Hi
Me and my wife (55 y.old) intend to visit the Rhein aria between 26/9/10 to 30/9/10.
I am looking for a good Zimmer / room with air-condition & other facilities for 5 nights at the place .
Can you help me ?!
Best regards
Amnon

I am quite sure that there is not a single hotel in Ruedesheim that has an aircondition, AND especially at the end of September you absolutely dont need that anymore !!!
Something that makes sense to look for is a room in a hotel that is QUIET at night, as along both banks of the Rhine heavy trains are running all night every 30 min and might keep you awake !
Some hotels have a great view of the river and mostly they also have the traintrack as well in front of their hotel !

A good website to look for rooms is www.hrs.de. I've used it very often. It lists hotels or B&Bs, you can reserve but you pay at arrival in the hotel. There are very few exceptions to this rule, for some pre-book specials you have to pay immediately.
Check what they tell you about Rüdesheim, however, I agree you will have a hard time finding air condition.

There is absolutely no need for air condition in the end of September. You are mroe likely to need heating, which any room has.

Travel Tips for Rüdesheim am Rhein
Restaurants and shops
by Neit
Rudesheim, famous for its wine, is plenty of shops and restaurants. While I was walking for its streets, there were some moments that they remember me the streets of "Costa Brava". Not for the architecture but for the style of those restaurants and shops.
a great window
by globetrott
Already in the times of the Roman Empire, wine was grown in Ruedesheim.
Since the area lives almost completely on wine.
About 100 years ago the mass-tourism started to overflow the small town and many of the buildings were adapted to become restaurants and things added to attract more tourists, like this wooden covers for the windows.
Siegfried's Mechanisches Musikkabinett
by globetrott
Siegfried's Mechanisches Musikkabinett is one of the biggest collections of automatic music-instruments and musicboxes.
Go inside, even when you will have not enough time to go inside the museum, the exhibits shown on my page are shown in the entrance hall, BEFORE you get to the cashier.
Unfortunately I could not leave my mother alone for such a long time, and I saw the lovely museum some years ago and may recommend it !!
Walk the Drosselgasse

This tiny street really takes you back to the old times. The 300 meter strip is more like an alley, as you couldn't drive anything larger than a motorcycle down it. That's okay with me, and it's packed with restaurants, shops, pubs, and a very lively atmosphere. Despite the lively appearance you can still settle down at one of the patios adjacent to restaurants and enjoy time with friends and family.
Most of the buildings date hundreds of years back, and they are all owned by local families.
Enjoy the vineyards in town!
by shrimp56
The vineyards reach right into Rudesheim and provide encouragement for sampling the local wine. You also have a great view of them from the Seilbahn [see transportation tips for more information].
.
The wine produced is both red and white, both enjoying the terroir of the mineral rich soil.
