You can get the train from Frankfurt airport (irt is very well signed, and ticket office staff speeak good English) to Wiesbaden Hauptbahnhof (main station). Journey takes around 40 minutes, mostly direct with no changes.

http://www.bahn.de/p/view/international/englisch/international_guests.shtml

will give you train times and details. Put 'Frankfurt Flughafen' into the search box.

Can't help you with directions from the station at Wiesbaden, I'm afraid, but if you put the address into Google maps you'll get a useful streetmap.

Frankfurt Airport has a trainstation below the arrival hall of terminal 1. Here the S-Bahn to Wiesbaden leaves and costs quite cheap (less than 5 Euro, if I remember correctly). The platforms where the S-Bahn leaves are shown on the time table posted on the right hand side of the moving stairs on the arrival level. Then go down to the lower level and follows the signs which take you to the platforms.

In Wiesbaden you probably would need a taxi.

Here a link to the terminal layout of FRA Airport http://www.airportcity-frankfurt.de/cms/default/dok/60/60886.sitemap.htm click on the left side on "Terminalpläne"

Hope this helps

The search function on www.bahn.de allows entering either station/stop or an exact address. Enter "Wiesbaden, Am Schlosspark 74" as your destination on the query page (not the start page but the second one that asks more details).

You'll get bus connections on bus 14 from Wiesbaden Hauptbahnhof to Biebrich, Herzogsplatz.

Travel Tips for Wiesbaden

Wiesbaden

by chancay

Wiesbaden owes its beginning to the steaming and curative hot springs, which gush out of the ground around the Kochbrunnen (hot fountain). The city has a long history that started with the romans settling around these hot springs mentioned. Today it is the capital of the hessian state, acity in the middle of the economically important Rhein-Main region. It has a charming little old town worth the visit
and of course the thermal bathes.

Inline Skating in Wiesbaden

by Weissdorn

If you're good on eight wheels, Wiesbaden has a variety of places for you to roll down, including half-pipes and stunt ramps.
The Henkell ice rink in the Hollerbornstra?e has free admission from May through August from 2-7 p.m.
There are street obsticle challanges for training in Wiesbaden-Bierstadt in the Theodor-Fliedner School and in the Sauerland Park.
Mini ramps are available in the Sport and Culture Hall in Wiesbaden-Breckenheim and on the Festival Plaza in Wiesbaden-Naurod. They also have a relatively nuew mini ramp on the Messerschmitt Grounds on the Reduit in Kastel.
The Karl-G?rtner School in Wiesbaden-Delkenheim has drop-ins and a half-pipe and in the Kohlheck School in Wiesbaden-Kohlheck there's a quarter pipe to practice on.
The skater area in the gym in Wiesbaden-He?loch is the place to make new skater buddys.
The sport area and playground in the Saarbr?cker Allee in Wiesbaden-Schierstein has a jump rail and a mini ramp.
You can also do jam sessions in Kostheim on the Maaraue, where they also have street obstacles and a mini ramp. Of course you will need to bring your own gear. Germans usually don't rent skates, because they're not that expensive to buy. Good skates are available in discount stores for as little as 30 Euro.

Shop Signs - 2 - "Schachtel am Römertor"

by robertbaum

Have you ever bothered to look at Shop signs?

Here in Wiesbaden they form part of the historical street scenes. Not only the buildings itself are old and worthwhile to see, but also the small details.

These pictures are the shop signs from the former restaurant "Schachtel", a legendary inn in the 80's situated at the Roman gate. Today the inn is called "Römerbar".

The Rathaus goes upscale!

by shrimp56 about Der Andechser

Most Ratskeller restaurants are not as classy as this one. You will find the dishes you expect in a German restaurant along with a changing schedule of daily and weekly specials.
.
Andechs is a well-respected monastery brewery located near Munich that operates a number of ratskellers in Germany.

State Theater Colonnade

by Nemorino

Another unusual feature of the State Theater (Staatstheater) in Wiesbaden is that it looks entirely different from the front than from the sides or the back.

At the front it has a long row of white neo-classical columns, and the rest is neo-baroque in various shades of light brown.

The white columns were built to match those of a similar building on the opposite side of the Bowling Green, which is a small park with a pond and fountains.
