Day trip to Barth
Tourism is rather less important for the economy of the town. Most tourist go to the towns along the Baltic Sea and visit Barth only for shopping. However, I think it is worth to visit this town for one day. Do not miss to visit Curch of Mary and harbour district.
Barth in old East Germany
"Barth, Germany on the Baltic Sea"
The Baltic sea has a lot to offer. For one thing, you don't find many tourists here. At least in Barth. The weather in glorious in the summer as is the Baltic Sea. If you want to see East Germany as it really is and was, come to Barth. Only a 3 hour drive from Berlin. There is an information center at the harbor where they can find you a super inexpensive bed & breakfast!
In this part of Germany, the Baltic Sea is at its best. Nearby is a National park where the beaches are fantastic and the wildlife is something to behold. The sand is pristine white.
"Barth Old Town"
The old town of Barth celebrates its birthday during the summer of 2005 when it becomes 750 years old as a registered city. The population is around 10,000.

"A wonderful Garden"
We have a garden place in Barth. Here is a picture looking at the Barth Townhall from the front of our place.
"What a Tree!"
There are many big, old trees in the area. Some oaks are known to be 1000 years old. Here is Achim standing in front , so you can see the real size by comparison. This tree is in the Castle Park in Schlemmin , nearby Barth.
