Go swimming in the Baltic sea

The Baltic Sea coast has some of the worlds best beaches - all complete with a lot of sunshine, white sand and a reasonably warm and not too salty sea.
The local beach is in Eldena, about 5 km from the centre, either along a pretty foot and cicle path or by bus. Be aware of barbecuing students over the summer... swimming gear, barbecue

Wieck Draw Bridge

This bridge is one of the oldest drawbridges in Europe. It crosses our little river Ryck just before it flows into the Baltic sea. It is possible to cross the bridge on foot or bike but it is closed for cars unless you are a local...

Also well worth seeing at night as it is then lighted quite beautifully.
