Die Marienkirche - St Mary's Church by Mariajoy
St Mary's Church is amongst the largest churches in the whole of the Baltic area. I am told that the interior is stunning with a famous 15th century astronomical clock. Unfortunately I didn't get to see it. My host told me that in former DDR times, whilst religious worship was not exactly forbidden, local people who attended church services .. or even whose families attended services, would not be considered for certain travel "priviliges" and employment choices would be unfairly restricted.
