The Heinkelwerke Aircraft Factory by Mariajoy
The walls of the former Heinkelwerke aircraft factory. It was here that the ejector seat was invented.The building was in the process of being demolished when, almost too late, the locals suddenly realised that this historic building should be preserved for posterity. Military aircraft production began here in 1933 with over 10,000 employees. Unfortunately this was the main reason why the city suffered so badly from allied bombing during WWII. It was successfully reconstructed after the war, but as you can see, it eventually closed and demolition began.
These walls will be preserved as a monument.
