Christmas decorations abound ..

Goslar is host to one of the best known Christmas Markets, but the decorations are not limited to the center. Nor, as you can see from this picture, are they limited to the sides of the houses -- check out the roof :)
A Wombat In Goslar
by Russell_the_Wombat
On a freeeeezing cold day in late December we went to Goslar to see this pretty old town. This trip was, in fact, my Christmas gift from Mommy. She knows that travelling and seeing new places means more to me than anything else, even food.
I had seen Wolfenbüttel before and found it wonderful, but Goslar is even more amazing. The medieval Emperors loved the place and built their castle here. The old town with its narrow lanes (yes, cobblestone!) is full of half-timbered houses. Then there are several Romanesque churches. I even got to see the old meeting hall of the town council with its medieval paintings on the walls and ceiling - understandably we were not allowed to take any photos there so I cannot show it to you. You'll have to go and see it yourselves!
