Blend With The Past At The Kaiserworth

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on July 14, 2007

A stay at the Kaiserworth is a marriage of medieval architecture and modern amenities. In almost all cases this has been carried out by the management in an exemplary manner. Some caution is suggested when making a reservation to be sure you receive adequate acknowledgment of what you think you have reserved.

Unique Quality: 1494 architecture associated with large pleasant rooms giving guests a special feeling.

Directions: Right in the centre of old Goslar on the main square (Marktplatz)

500 years of Gothic

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on April 21, 2003

Arresting Gothic pile right on the main square. Range of prices for rooms, I stayed in the cheapest category of single, which had basic, heavy furniture but was comfortable enough. Quite posh - in fact I think a few of the guests may have felt I was lowering the tone somewhat (as a backpacker). Big buffet breakfast (salmon anyone?). Not the most expensive in Goslar, but the best placed. I liked just sitting in the Eiskafee across the square and thinking "woo, I'm staying in there!"

Unique Quality: Well, how many 500 year old Gothic places do you get to stay in?

Directions: Bang in the middle, about 50m from the Tourist Info
